So, summer has begun!
That is usually a very busy time around our house....when are we not busy.... And, par for the course, we have been working on summer workbooks, practicing musical instruments, completing work for merit badges that were started during the year and attending camps. Our oldest attended a Wrestling Camp last week. He will be gone next week and the following week attending 2 Boy Scout camps. For those who know Boy Scouts, I sure hope he is voted into the Order of the Arrow this year. He is the only one of his patrol that has not been voted in......hummmmm.....I wonder why...... Anyway, we SHALL NOT DWELL!
Our middle son, who is 10 years old yet weighs 68 pounds, has decided to play the TUBA in the school band. (Yes, take a moment to laugh and then continue...) We hope that he will be able to do some work on that instrument this summer in preparation for the new school year. He will also be attending a String Camp for violin. He has really made advancements this year on that instrument and I think the digital work of fingering the notes is helping his dexterity. We can't wait until July as our insurance should start to cover Physical Therapy again for our middle son. He misses it so much. HE CAN TELL that his brain works better when he is in physical therapy.
We were surprised last week by my sister-in-law and my nephew/Godson coming down from Illinois for a visit. It was great to see them! Although, at times, bitter sweet. I was able to see how our oldest son, with all of the advancements he has made, is still less mature than he cousin, who is a year younger than he is. I guess that really isn't all that bad. It could be worse. My nephew had the opportunity to help out with a "Buddy Ball" game. He was precious! It was a wonderful opportunity for all 3 of them to be in a "game" together. They will never have that opportunity again......
The house is not clean and the clothes are washed but not put away. I am TRYING to let it go that there is NO WAY to keep a small house with 3 boys "magazine clean" all summer. I figure I could have a perfect house or I could spend the summer enjoying my wonderful children.
Well, I just wanted to give you an update about our summer. Hope you summer is going well.
