Rocket Science

When speaking to doctors about my sons, I often feel like I need a Medical Degree, Psychology Degree and a Certificate from NASA in Rocket Science to understand what I am being told.
PLEASE KNOW that the discussions I post on this page are PURELY OPINION!
I would never want anyone to feel like my rantings are the BE ALL END ALL of the discussion about Asperger's Syndrome and/or Autism.
Of course, if it were rooted in ROCKET SCIENCE.....
Aspie kids would probably really enjoy it.......

My postings are meant to be a mother's perspective on dealing with this "different ability". I try very hard to keep it as positive as possible....even though I sometimes need to just fuss. Sorry for those times.

I recently was asked if I had ever considered putting these posts into a book. To say that I was humbled by this statement would be selling it short. How honored I was to have someone even mention that! Personally, I think that I need more practice first and secondly, I am not too sure that many people would want to read the crazy rantings of a mother of 2 Aspie sons..... I think people are often looking for a quick fix........"Rocket Science." I can't offer that to anyone. There is no quick fix for this situation.....or truly ANY situation in life that is worthy and lasting. Our society has become one of "quick fixes".  But if there were a quick fix, we would miss the beauty that is inherently present due to the fact that these children are created by GOD to do His bidding on Earth.

Rocket Science is so cool! I remember, as a student in school, waiting with bated breath as the Space Shuttle was taking off or landing. Or how wonderful field trips to NASA were. How awesome the human capacity for invention is, thanks to its Creator.
But, remember, if you only look at the Rocket,
you will miss the beauty of the stars.
