So our middle son is in Cub Scouts and our oldest son is in Boy Scouts. When the Cub Scout Camp Outs roll around, I am always worried about how our middle son will react. I went to all of the Mom & Me camp outs with our oldest son, as did my husband attend the Dad & Cub Camp Outs. But, our middle son has had trouble camping out at night. It was just last spring, in preparation for the Dad & Cub Camp Out, that he actually decided to "CAMP OUT" for a night. WOOWHOOOO!
What a difference a year makes....
My husband got off work late on Friday night and was planning to go out to the campsite of this year's Dad & Cub Camp Out early Saturday morning. Our middle son was vehement that the "correct" way to do it was to go out on Friday night! He WANTED to camp out for the whole weekend!!! So what did we do? Of course, we made it happen.
You gotta take every opportunity to reinforce the positive.
