A Real "Gully-Washer"

I guess that, because he has come so for, I forget that our oldest Aspie son still takes things so literally.

Last night, we had a "gully-washer" of a rain storm. As we live across the street from my mother, the small bridge crossing the ditch became a dam as the rainwater wedged an avalanche of leaves into the space below.

Our oldest Aspie son decided to help out by pulling the leaves out of the ditch.

WOOWHOOO! Voluntarily taking RESPONSIBILITY....right?

As he was walking out the door, my husband reminded him to use the umbrella...because it was still raining.
About 5 minutes later, our son returned with a totally MUTILATED umbrella!!!
Well, of course....he USED the umbrella...to unstop the ditch!!!!!

Then, to make it clear that he is more intelligent than the two of us put together he said,
"I finally just moved the bridge and all of it just washed away. Problem solved!"

Why didn't we think of that?
Sometimes, parents never learn.
TOO FUNNY!!
